My Happenings

I'm finally able to post because I remembered the username & password to login to the Blogger site and post directly from there (usually I post using my wbloggAr program on my desktop). Anyway, for those of you who didn't read where I tagged myself, my system crashed last week and long story short, my only option was to reload Windows and start from scratch...the way it came to me from the factory. Sooooo, I lost EVERYTHING with the exception of a few files that I had backed up the first week of July *sigh* I was bawling like a baby.

The big news I had to find a way to get on & share is the HUGE scare we had last night.....we had to take Leah, my 9 year old, to the emergency room! She was spinning circles in the living room, and all the sudden I heard a big crash.......she had fallen and hit her head on the corner of the coffee table!!! Joe was in the shower, and I had scooped her up and run to the bathroom with her. She said "Is my head bleeding?" I was like, "no, no", until she stuck her hand behind her head and it came back COVERED in blood. Now, I know as the mommy I should have kept my cool so she wouldn't be more scared, but I panicked...I don't hold up well under situations like that! I was standing outside the bathroom door, holding her, unable to open the door, yelling "help me, help me, she's bleeding!" Probably frightened Leah to death! *shame on me* But OMG, she was covered in blood by then, it was all over the front and back of her pajamas, her hair was so wet with it we like to never found where the cut was, and when I saw a little river of blood coming around her neck, I almost lost it. I wound up calling my mom, and she came over to help us determine if she needed stitches or not. It bleed for close to an hour while we tried various ways of wrapping/bandaging it. My mom didn't think she needed to go to the hospital, but I really did (after all, I was the panicked mom, remember?), so we finally sent Camryn home with mom and took Leah to the ER around 11:10. She was hysterical thinking about getting a shot and/or stitches. They called us back to triage pretty soon, and wasn't long before the doctor saw her. He didn't tell us what he was gonna do, he just came back with this little thing in his hand and next thing I know, he's stapled her head! Yep, an honest to God metal staple! She said it hurt, but not as bad as she was afraid of ;) and she goes back in 8 days to get it removed. We have to keep her head clean, dry, and medicated with antibiotic ointment for at least 3 days. What a scare! She had bloodied 2 washcloths at home, plus I cleaned up drips of blood from the floor, and of course the jammies, and was waaaay to wound up to go to sleep, so even though we got home around 12:30, I was still awake until about 2:00 am. I've been awake for a bit now, even though I am super sleepy and got a rip-roaring headache, but everyone else is still asleep and I wanted to be able to blog about this while I could.

We were supposed to go to the Federal Building in Rome, GA today to get Camryn's Social Security card replaced....I have no clue where it is, and she needs it to be able to start school next week, but get this....they won't accept her birth certificate as proof of id....they want like "religious records, adoption records, or hospital/doctor records"!!! So, I put in a call to our pediatrician Monday requesting her shot records, and didn't hear back from them until yesterday....but then it was to tell me they can't find her records! What the @%#&^@($^?!?! She was just there over a week ago to get shots, for crying out loud, and now they have no record of her at all?!? I called again about 30 minutes ago, but, as ALWAYS, got the flipping recording again and left a message saying we REALLY need that info this morning, but I'm not gonna hold my breath!

I'll try to update in a day or so, right now my head is KILLING me, and I think I'll go lay back down while I can. Thanks to those of you who still visit my dusty lil' blog ;) and your tags and comments always make my day! Sending love 'n' hugs to you all! =)
