Before I start explaining my emotions, let me say
yet another day has gone by that I haven't been
able to spend any time online, thus I've missed
chatting with my buddies Between playing with the girls &
their new toys, watching their new DVD's, and
cat-napping I can't seem to find any mommy
time! Waaaaah! Extra big hugs go out to
Wendi, Melly, Malisa & Monica! Miss you girls!

On a happier note, Leah & I just got back from
seeing LOTR3 It was excellent........LONG, but
well worth it! I think that was the first & only
time I've EVER been to the theater where I
didn't have to go potty....though by the time we
got home, I was floating! ROFL!

Ok, now: I am shocked, as I mentioned above. Being
blonde, I don't know whether this is an elaborate joke,
or legit, but I was at a site reading about email hoaxes,
and stumbled upon a link that has me outraged. Please,
visit Bonsai Kitten yourself, and tell me if I am being
gullible, or if there really are sick individuals out there
that will "grow" a cat into your desired shape!
Un-frigging-believable!

After getting all steamed over that, I experienced
heartbreak, reading about lil' baby James. This poor
fella was born 3 months premature, weighing less than
2 pounds, and now, in his 18th day of life, is still struggling.
Please click below to read more of his story, & keep this family
in your heart & prayers. (Thanks to Lori for the graphic)

Having ridden the emotional rollercoaster today, I am tired...
and as soon as I trick Leah & Camryn into going to bed, I am
heading there myself! *sigh* I will try to update later this week
with how our Christmas went.

2. Have you ever said "Because I Said So!" ?

3. Do you buy seasonal/holiday potholders?

4. Have you ever refered to body-parts
as "a Cookie -or- a Noodle" ?
No, but we do have other names we use
5. Do you ever utter the horrible phrase:
"When I was your age..."?
Thank God, no....but I fear I may once the
girls are older! LOL!

I'll do my best to try to do a bit of blog-hopping
in the next day or so, to wish you all a very
Merry Christmas, but if I don't.....May your
home be full of love, laughter, family, happiness,
and cheer! Hope Santa's good to you all!

Hey girls! Once the holidays are over, I hope to
get into a regular blogging pattern....
right now I can hardly find time
to read my emails, much less blog! LOL!
I DID finally get the Christmas
tree up & decorated this past weekend!
And Joe & I are taking the day
off together Thursday to do all our shopping......
not a single gift bought
yet! We have 2 holiday gatherings this
coming Sunday, plus one either
Thursday nite or Monday evening, then to the
in-laws on Christmas Eve.
Leah has sung in the choir/performed in the
school play 4 times in the
past week, we took Callie(the new kitten) to
the vet today, let's see....
what else has been taking my time? Oh, yes,
my mom's birthday was on
the 9th, and then Joe's was yesterday. Joe's grandfather was in the
hosptial again, but is doing much better now & is at home.
Ok, now that I gave ya the low-down on my busy schedule, gonna
take time to do this cool new weekly blog thing, .
I happened upon Lindsey's blog, and just loved reading
her entries, and was delighted to see she had
started this Chick Chat.
Here are the questions for this week:

"Let's Get Personal"

1. Do You Buy Colored Toilet Paper? Not anymore ;)
2. What's Hubby's Nickname For You? Body, or sometimes he just calls me Bod......something to do with a movie
that David Schwimmer & this hot hispanic chick played in(?)

3. Wine: Red or White? Never had either one
4. Ben & J-Lo, Will It Last? Hmmm, I give it a 85% chance
5. Is the Hokey Pokey Really What it's All About? Nah, but then
again, if it's not, then I don't know what is! LOL!

Ok, now gonna go rest from my loooooong 6-2 shift today
(boy, they worked my butt off!), and watch LOTR for
the millioneth time with the girls.......I can't believe
I never knew that Legolas was played
by Orlando Bloom....I think I have a bit of a crush on Legolas!

~Holiday Hugs~

(oops......a P.S.......to all my online buddies.....a BIG apology!I know I haven't been around much
lately, & I'm very sorry. It has been made clear to me
by certain family members that I spend waaaaaaaay
too much time online, and not enough
with my family, so I have been trying to distance myself
from spending so much time on the computer. I DO miss
you all terribly, and our daily chats, and will hopefully be
able to keep both my buddies, my family , &
myself happy some way!)

Good grief, Charley Brown! ROFL! It's been ages since I
blogged . Haven't really had much to say.
Work is the same ol' same ol'. I have been busy
updating my main site with Christmas decor,
tho I haven't touched the house yet...we don't even have
our up yet *sigh*....I am in a bah-humbug kinda funk!
(I did manage to make progress on a new blog layout/graphics,
but it will be a while yet before I'm done & can upload it!)
No Christmas shopping done yet, so of course no
presents wrapped. No cards sent/received.
No updates to my Adoption Garden...ALMOST done!
Just been sitting around feeling SLEEPY all the time....and COLD!!!
Brrrr,it's been so cold here in GA after all those days
in November with highs in the 70's.
We went to the pound Tuesday to look for a cat,
but came home empty-handed.
All they had were under 6 weeks old, and since
we will be keeping this kittyoutside, we figure we need an older one.The lady was very sweet~she took our
name & number, and said she'd call when they
got more in....then we heard back
from her & she said they'd have a 6 month old male cat Monday. According to her, the male cats tend to be more loving, while the females are more standoffish. Anyhoo, Leah & Camryn are very excited, and can hardly wait!

As promised on my What's New page(main site), here are
some holiday recipes
to enjoy! I will be adding more during the coming weeks!

Creamy Eggnog Punch
from the KRAFT INTERACTIVE KITCHEN.

8 cups (2 qt.)prepared eggnog

2 tubs (8 oz. each) COOL WHIP or COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping, thawed

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 cup rum

1 cup ice cubes

ground nutmeg (optional)

Preparation:
Mix eggnog, 1 tub of the whipped topping and cinnamon in large bowl. Stir in rum and ice.

Refrigerate until ready to serve. Just before serving, top with remaining whipped topping and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve with cinnamon sticks. Store any leftover punch in refrigerator.

Jumbo Fluffy Apple Walnut Muffins

A large fluffy muffin with a sweet buttery topping. My jumbo muffin tins hold 1 cup per muffin, so this is scaled for my tins.
Servings: 6

1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
2 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
1/2 cup walnuts

1/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter, cubed

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Coat top and insides of jumbo muffin pan with cooking spray, or line with muffin papers.
2. In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar, vanilla, and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at time. Mix together the 1 3/4 cups of flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Stir in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Fold in apples and walnuts. Scoop into muffin cups to fill 3/4 full. Lightly sprinkle the tops with cinnamon crumble.
3. To make Cinnamon Crumble: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup white sugar, 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, and 2 tablespoons cubed butter. Mix together using a pastry blender, or two butter knives. The crumble topping should resemble small peas.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until tops are golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If they are browning too quickly, cover with tin foil. Remove from pans, and cool on wire rack.

Yikes! How could I forget such great news?!?
Got an early Christmas gift last night....
Malisa gave me, Wendi, and Melly this GORGEOUS
angel bashful teddy page set!!! It is devine,
I'm soooooo excited to
update my Adoption Garden with this super set!
Thanks again, Malisa!
Have a warm, wonderful weekend my friends!
